Roof for the Malak Family
Among life’s most basic necessities, a safe shelter is one of the most vital. In particular, a stable roof that is able to protect from the harsh heat of the summer and brisk cold of the winter, along with the various possible dangers of the natural elements, is paramount for safety. In Upper Egypt, many poor families live in homes with unstable roofs leaving them vulnerable and at risk. One such family is the Malak family.
Mr. Malak lives with his wife and their five children in their small and worn out Upper Egypt home. The family struggles to make ends meet particularly with the financial demands of affording the basic necessities of a family of seven. Because of their more imminent needs of food, water, and clothing, the family cannot afford to repair their unstable roof. Their safety is at risk due to the dangers of inhabiting a home with an unstable roof as rain, dust, and growing mold threaten to seep through. The total cost to build a new roof for the family is $1200; a steep cost that the family cannot afford on their own.
Unheard Cries is partnering with on-ground representatives in Upper Egypt to help the Malak family build a new and safe roof that will shelter them through the hot summers and cold winters. With your donations, we will be able to collect the money needed to provide them with the safe and secure living environment they need to be able to live and thrive.
