Back to School Fundraiser for Iraqi Children

Children all around the world have recently started or are about to start a new school year. With the excitement that comes with anticipating the next educational milestone, many living in poverty also face ambivalence about their ability to embark on the next step of their schooling journey due to financial hardship. While the associated costs of an education may be considered low for the average family living in the west, for many of the families Unheard Cries serves in the Middle East, these costs present a significant burden.

Last year, Unheard Cries distributed 200 sets of school supplies to displaced Iraqi children aged 6-12 years. These children and their families have faced unimaginable hardship, including the pain of displacement due to religious persecution, leaving them financially vulnerable. This year, Unheard Cries is partnering with on-ground representatives in Iraq to help these children once more. Every $20 donation will cover a child’s back to school gift package of a backpack, a lunchbox, notebooks, and pens. The number of children helped will depend on the donations obtained.

Your generous donations will help us bring hope and joy to the lives of these students and their families. They will help ensure an Iraqi child in need is able to continue their education and thrive through the rigors of a new school year. Because every child, regardless of financial means, deserves the opportunity to build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
